A Reset Is A Necessity

Last week was a much-needed reset for me in the form of vacation. From Atlanta to Biloxi to New Orleans, there was plenty of downtime, sun, swimming, and resetting myself.

Before vacation arrived on my calendar there were some red flags flying high. My mind was running well past empty and the body was not physically in tune. Not saying OMG! I’m in terrible shape but there was a need to reset and evaluate some things.

My reset came in the version of watching Atlanta United vs. LA Galaxy in the new and improved Mercedes Benz Superdome in the ATL. I can’t recommend enough if you are a futbol (soccer) fan to go check out the breathtaking atmosphere in Atlanta. And this is coming from a DC United supporter; Atlanta is a soccer town.

After chillaxing in Biloxi for a few days in the sun and lounging in a heated hot tub and pool, it was time to head out. New Orleans welcomed me back with a Daiquiri and Southern Hospitality. Family, Friends and some R&R on the farm does well for the soul in the Bayou.

We as people sometimes just need to hit the reset button. Whether in the gym and hitting a rep wrong or frustrated with the weight laughing at you on the floor (you know it’s gonna be a day…)

MINI-HORSE!!! 😄

Step back. Take a breath. Crank Up The Volume. Focus. Try Again.

Or outside of the gym walls. One of your friends comes at you with energy on TILT. Take a moment. Reset. Work slamming you and your psyche to the limit. RESET!

Whether it’s a daily or weekly reset, if you need one then TAKE ONE. Mine was much needed and appreciated. I spent hours outside under the sun just thinking about life, my inner circle, and looking at what I can improve on.

Which led me to attack the following area: My Nutrition. Injuries aside, physically I feel unnecessary bloated and can tell while rehabilitating my legs that it may be wise to switch the diet up a bit. Meaning that my calorie intake 🆚 my actual work rate needs to be a primary focus when it comes to my performance. Additionally adding more veggies into the mix while cutting down some fats should move me back in the right direction fuel wise.

The struggle right?!? 🤣 🤣 🤣

Another Day, Another Blessing. Even on Mondays. Time to get back to work.
